About the Role
Ready to guide teams and help deliver products that support our customers every day? If you enjoy enabling people, improving ways of working, and creating the conditions for teams to succeed, this could be your next step. At EDF, Success is Personal and you'll shape your journey, your way.
The Opportunity
As an experienced Scrum Master within a SAFe environment, you'll play a vital role in helping product teams deliver value consistently and predictably. We're still maturing in our Agile journey, and this role is critical in taking us to the next level. You'll go beyond facilitating ceremonies; you'll actively coach teams and stakeholders to improve how we plan, prioritise and deliver, ensuring a strong focus on outcomes over activity. You'll champion Scrum in a pragmatic way but always grounded in the Scrum Guide, helping teams apply it effectively in real-world situations. You'll also work beyond the team level, identifying and addressing systemic impediments that impact delivery across the organisation. This is a predominantly home-based role. However, it is essential that you can occasionally travel to EDF locations such as Doxford, Hove and Exeter.
Who You Are
We're looking for a confident, experienced Scrum Master who combines strong practical and theoretical Agile expertise with a pragmatic, outcome-driven mindset. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Certified Scrum Master (e.g. CSM or PSM), ideally with a SAFe certification
- Proven experience coaching Scrum teams to improve delivery outcomes
- Confident and proactive approach; you're comfortable challenging teams, Product Owners and stakeholders, and you don't avoid difficult conversations when they're needed
- Strong experience identifying and resolving impediments, including those that sit outside the team
- The ability to balance team wellbeing with accountability for delivering value
- Experience in supporting all Scrum team roles with a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge, e.g. user story writing, prioritisation, development bottlenecks or addressing risks and dependencies
- Deep theoretical and practical understanding of Scrum and SAFe in complex environments
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills across teams, stakeholders and leadership
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
What You'll Be Doing
- Coach teams to deliver high-quality, incremental value with a clear focus on outcomes, KPIs and OKRs
- Challenge teams and stakeholders to continuously improve how they work and what they deliver
- Identify, own and drive resolution of impediments at team and organisational level
- Partner with Product Owners to strengthen backlog quality, prioritisation and value delivery
- Hold teams accountable to agreed ways of working while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Facilitate effective Scrum events that drive clarity, alignment and progress, not just routine
- Contribute to improving Agile maturity across the wider organisation
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a competitive salary, potential for an annual bonus and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days and more. At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that's unique to you. Here, Success is Personal; it's your journey, powered by us.
