The chance to achieve an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Certificate, alongside a BTEC Level 3 qualification which offers a starting salary of £16,912. This four-year programme combines practical learning with academic study. You'll develop specialist skills to maintain and operate our nuclear power stations, working alongside experienced professionals and building a strong foundation for your future career.

For the first two years, you'll train at the National College for Nuclear in Somerset. You'll have access to cutting-edge facilities including virtual reality environments and outstanding student accommodation rated by Ofsted. This nuclear engineering apprenticeship gives you hands-on experience and industry-recognised qualifications to start your career in the UK energy sector. This programme is part of EDF's mission to drive the transition towards an Electric Britain.

Your Work Location: You'll be based at the National College for Nuclear Southern Hub in Somerset for the first two years, with accommodation available if you live outside the area. You'll then be based at your EDF location for years 3 and 4 which will be Heysham Power Station.

Who You Are: To be eligible for this EDF apprenticeship programme, you need to have five GCSEs at Grade C or above (or Grade 4 and above in the new grading structure), National 5 or equivalent, including maths, English and two science or technical subjects. Following online testing, you may be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre, which could lead to an interview at a later date.
