The HVAC Construction Manager is part of a wider team of Leaders reporting to the Mechanical Lead supporting the delivery of the installation. Delivery of the upstream engineering sequence is outside the scope of the Construction Manager's role; however, they should ensure integration with the other areas of the team and other disciplines.
This role has counterparts across the other disciplines in the MEH construction team, who perform equivalent roles for the other 4 disciplines of MEH, support the Area and Building Leads, and Construction Engineers in the day-to-day construction planning, engineering and works progression and utilising the 16WLA, ensuring material deliveries are known and documentation is in place. Accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to support the MEH construction activities.
Engage with the constructability using the building engineers as required to facilitate sequencing of installation that maximises efficiency. Manage project change within your discipline ensuring that the project change process is adhered to. This will include construction documentation as well as scope change aspects of the contract.
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing the technical issues relating to the installation of HVAC (construction activities), in particular:
- Writing of the documentation for erection activities. Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.
- Supporting Technical Queries. Resolving the construction Open Points.
- Coordinate all the engineering activities to support construction sequence, including the identification and implementation of improvements to processes and ways of working (e.g., redlining process on site).
- Ensure integration of the needs for activities post-construction (completion team) into the construction sequence (for instance: Commissioning Test Pack review and acceptance).
Qualifications:
- Degree in relevant construction discipline or HVAC engineering with extensive experience working in this type of role or 10 years' experience in a site construction management role.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and installation.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- CCNSG Safety Passport (Or MAPS).
- Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.
- Proven experience of safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects including working at a management level of authority.
- Experience in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial as is experience in working with Joint Ventures.
