An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen at HPC to join our Maintenance Technical Advice Group. Do you enjoy problem solving, using your experience, and applying it to different and new situations?

At HPC our plant is currently going through the early stages of its lifecycle, construction and commissioning. As a Technical Advice Engineer (TAG), you will be a pivotal part of the Comm-Ops Maintenance organisation ensuring that our plant is fit for its operational life and using your technical expertise to support the wider organisation. You will be at the forefront of HPC taking hand over of their first systems. As part of your role as a TAG engineer, you will have opportunities to work with our maintenance technicians delivering a wide variety of work on systems handed over to us either for Maintenance or Surveillance, whilst also supporting decision making through the provision of technical advice.

Additionally, as a TAG engineer there will be opportunities to manage maintenance delivery work supporting the equipment programme, work with our Commissioning teams and designers ensuring that the plant we are accepting meets our requirements as well as visiting our suppliers for testing and training. What you’ll be doing

  • Provide engineering oversight and technical support to a team of craft technicians to deliver plant repairs.
  • Have an Electrical Engineering background.
  • Providing engineering and technical advice to breakdown defects.
  • Provide technical support to the Care and Maintenance team to provide oversight of care and Maintenance activities.
  • Support plant-facing work from a front-line, hands-on standpoint.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Where plant issues are identified, provide technical expertise and knowledge to troubleshoot activities and ensure robust corrective actions are in place to resolve issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure that work completed complies with the Site standards and prescribed service levels, standards, and targets are being met.
  • Maintain your knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Proactively use OPEX (Operating Experience) to promote learning within the organisation.

Who you are

  • Experience of working in a team to deliver exceptional performance within company processes.
  • Industrial and operational engineering experience with a strong safety bias.
  • Experience as an engineer with a drive to identify and resolving issues with a focus on safety, quality, time and cost.
  • Experience of working within highly regulated requirements.
  • Engineering based qualification at HNC level or equivalent as a minimum.
