This is your chance to build a career in engineering while working on some of the UK’s most exciting energy projects.

The Opportunity

Our Scada Technician Apprenticeship offers a starting salary of £16,912 and the chance to achieve a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering and a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship. You will be joining a fast paced, growing discipline learning critical skills in Control systems, coding, cyber security and networking & applying them on live operational sites to develop a greener future.

You’ll study full-time at the National College for Nuclear and Clean Energy for the first two years, then join EDF sites for hands-on experience. The programme starts on Tuesday 1st September 2026, and you’ll play a part in EDF’s mission to drive the transition towards An Electric Britain.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based at the National College for Nuclear and Clean Energy in Somerset for the first two years. You’ll then cover a number of our EDF operation locations. Travel will be required, giving you exposure to different operational sites and engineering teams across the UK.

What You’ll Experience

  • Learning the foundation principles of engineering
  • Developing practical hand skills and technical knowledge
  • Gaining experience at EDF operational sites and service centres
  • Support from experienced mentors and engineering teams

A full UK driving licence is required by the end of your apprenticeship.

The Assessment Centre will be delivered either virtually or in person. Further details, including the date, will be confirmed in due course. It is nevertheless a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK.
