About the Role
Ready to make a real, day‑to‑day impact in strengthening safety performance on one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects? This is your chance to help ensure we keep people safe, solve problems quickly and support colleagues across Hinkley Point C. Here, Success is Personal – and the work you do each day will help us continue to raise the bar.
The Opportunity
As Site Learning & Improvement Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting safe working across the HPC project by taking ownership of day‑to‑day supervisory duties within the H&S function. You’ll help coordinate workloads, manage team rotas, and oversee essential operational tasks that keep the team effective, organised and responsive. Alongside a competitive salary and potential annual bonus, this role is based primarily in the office at Hinkley Point C, with occasional visits to site to develop knowledge and maintain visibility of project activities. You’ll work closely with the H&S Manager and a team of advisors, using your practical experience to make sure the team runs smoothly and support is always available – whether that’s arranging cover for sickness or leave, maintaining documentation, or preparing packs and minutes for key meetings. This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys getting things done. You’ll bring strong coordination skills and a real understanding of H&S practice within engineering or construction. Your work will directly help the team deliver reliable, consistent support to the wider project – contributing to our journey towards An Electric Britain.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a Site Learning & Improvement Lead with a practical mindset who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can balance supervisory responsibilities with hands‑on coordination. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Experience supervising or coordinating Health & Safety Advisors or similar H&S practitioners
- An engineering background
- A Health & Safety Diploma (or currently working towards it)
- Experience managing day‑to‑day team activities such as rotas, annual leave, and absence cover
- Experience preparing documentation, taking minutes and supporting H&S governance activity
- Familiarity with H&S practices in construction or engineering environments
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervising and coordinating the day‑to‑day activities of the H&S advisory team
- Managing team rotas, holiday cover and sickness absence
- Preparing meeting packs, supporting documentation and accurate minutes
- Providing hands‑on coordination and administrative support to the H&S Manager
- Carrying out occasional visits to site to enhance understanding of project activities
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a competitive salary, potential for an annual bonus, and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days and more.
