Role Overview:

LogicalPS are recruiting on behalf of a tier 1 contractor for a reliable and hardworking Civil Engineering General Labourer to support the construction activities on a major Nuclear New Build site in Leiston, Suffolk.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Basic First Aid certificate (desirable).
  • Relevant safety or site-specific certifications (if applicable).

Payrates:

£14.59 p/h + OT after 39 hours. Lodge for non-locals, mileage, radius. Full PAYE including pension and 31 days holiday.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist trades with their tasks as required, performing general site duties such as unloading and loading materials, moving tools and equipment whilst assisting in the storage and organization of tools and materials.
  • Following waste management & recycling procedures.
  • Supporting with site preparation, including clearing debris, rubbish removal, and maintaining tidiness.
  • Aiding with the setting up and dismantling of site facilities, barriers, signage, the transportation and distribution of materials around the site to ensure walkways, access points, and working areas are clear.
  • Support with the operation of basic site machinery and equipment under supervision completing basic civil engineering tasks (Digging, Trenching & Concreting).
  • Health & Safety Compliance by following all health and safety policies, procedures, and instructions. Must use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.
  • Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
  • Participate in regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Complete daily logs or checklists as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the team about progress or issues.
  • Reporting concerns & incidents to supervisors promptly.

Experience:

  • Previously laboured on construction/civil engineering sites.
  • Understanding of site operations and safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
  • Knowledge of site safety standards and PPE requirements.
