Business Overview

Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. While the company is in the construction phase, the Board’s principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway. The construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. Following financial completion and revenue commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

Key Information

  • Location: Based in Suffolk on a hybrid basis with travel to other offices as required.
  • Contract: Permanent, full‑time.
  • Salary: Competitive dependant on experience, plus benefits.

Benefits

  • Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
  • Bonus: 5% annual bonus.
  • Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution and 15% employer contribution.

About the Role

As Business Architecture Lead, you will spearhead the business architecture function within Sizewell C, ensuring that strategic goals translate into coherent, well‑structured capabilities, operating models, processes, and change roadmaps. You will lead a team, work across all functions of the project (design, engineering, procurement, safety, regulation, operations), and provide leadership in ensuring that business change is holistic, aligned and delivers value while meeting regulatory obligations.

About You

  • Significant experience in business architecture or enterprise/business transformation in large, complex, highly regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, infrastructure, energy, defence).
  • Demonstrable hands‑on expertise with architecture frameworks, capability modelling, value stream mapping and operating model design.
  • Strong track record in leading teams, influencing senior executives, facilitating stakeholder alignment and managing cross‑functional dependencies.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex architectures clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Good commercial awareness, linking capability investments to value, cost, schedule and risk.
