EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-e) is a UK-based company delivering design and engineering activities for EPR-type nuclear power plant projects. EPR-e brings the expertise of the EDF group as well as support from its integrated partner companies within a single engineering entity. EPR-e delivers the design for the EPR Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) projects, covering the nuclear island, conventional island, and manufacturing control activities, and provides support solutions to its clients for the construction, testing, and future operation of the plant.

Poste et missions

The mission will take place on the HPC site within the JDO-DT (site engineering), responsible for the study activities of the nuclear and conventional islands of the Hinkley Point nuclear power plant in the UK. The team consists of around sixty people from various nationalities, in a very international environment, within a multi-company platform on the HPC site. We are looking for a mechanical design engineer.

Responsabilités

  • Responsible for the technical resolution of issues between design and implementation on a metallic structure within their scope.
  • Facilitates the relationship and technical meetings between site stakeholders (project client, contractor, and site design teams, including design offices).
  • Reviews outsourced activities to design offices with contradictory controls.
  • Utilises 2D tools provided for their activities.
  • Leads technical meetings with suppliers or any other necessary support entities.

Profil recherché

  • Mechanical engineer or generalist with a mechanical background, either a beginner or with 1 to 2 years of experience.
  • Technical English required.
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes.
  • Familiarity with 3D and 2D software such as Navisworks (or ability to learn).
  • Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Enjoys human contact and challenges.
  • Good relational and communication skills, ability to manage numerous interfaces, synthesis skills, practical sense, and initiative required.

Conditions et qualifications

  • Desired experience: 12 months.
  • Specialisation: Mechanical.
  • Languages: English, French.
  • Education level: bac+4, bac+5 and above.
