The Opportunity

As a Maintenance Technical Engineer, you’ll join our Maintenance Technical Advice Group at Hinkley Point C, supporting the plant through its early lifecycle stages of construction and commissioning. Your technical advice will help ensure systems meet operational requirements and support decision-making across the organisation. This is a grade B role and the salary is from £54,280 per annum. This role is based at Hinkley Point C with some travel to local offices. You’ll work on site, collaborating with commissioning teams, designers, and suppliers to ensure plant readiness and compliance. From troubleshooting plant issues to managing maintenance delivery and supporting surveillance activities, you’ll gain exposure to diverse systems and processes. We’ll support your growth with opportunities to learn, develop, and make a real impact on Britain’s energy future.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technical Engineer who thrives on problem-solving and teamwork. Are you experienced in:

  • Providing engineering oversight and technical advice for plant repairs
  • Applying electrical engineering knowledge in industrial environments
  • Working within highly regulated requirements and safety standards
  • Delivering effective solutions to breakdown defects and maintenance issues
  • Holding an engineering qualification at HNC level or equivalent

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide technical support and advice to maintenance teams
  • Troubleshoot plant issues and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with site licence requirements and safety rules
  • Support commissioning and acceptance of systems into maintenance
  • Promote learning through proactive use of operating experience (OPEX)
