EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-e), which is part of the EDF group, is a British company delivering design and engineering activities for EPR-type nuclear power plant projects in the UK. EPR-E provides the expertise of the EDF group as well as support from its integrated partner companies within a single engineering entity. EPR-E delivers the design for the EPR Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) projects, covering: the nuclear island, the conventional island, and manufacturing control activities; as well as providing support solutions to its clients for construction, testing, and future operation of the plant.

Post and missions: The mission will take place on the HPC site within the JDO-DT (site engineering), responsible for study activities of the nuclear and conventional islands of the Hinkley Point nuclear power plant in the UK. The group consists of about sixty people from various nationalities, in a very international environment, within a multi-company platform on the HPC site. We are looking for a mechanical design engineer.

The engineer will be responsible for the technical resolution of issues between design and implementation on a metal structure within their scope, animate the relationship and technical meetings between site stakeholders (project client, contractor, and site design teams, including design offices), review (with contradictory checks, for example) the activities subcontracted to design offices, use the 2D tools available for their activities, and lead technical meetings with suppliers or any other necessary support entities.

Mechanical or General Engineer: Mechanical or General Engineer with a mechanical background, either a beginner or with 1 to 2 years of experience. Technical English required. Knowledge of Eurocodes. Knowledge of 3D and 2D software such as Navisworks (or ability to learn). Ability to meet commitments and deadlines. Enjoyment of human contact and challenges. Good relational and communication skills, ability to manage numerous interfaces, synthesis mindset and practical sense essential, initiative required.
