About Sizewell C

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of this complex infrastructure project. This role is ideal for someone with a background in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical) or experience in working in large infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to ensure the safe, timely, and compliant execution of critical contracts supporting nuclear construction and commissioning. This includes contributing to the development and implementation of logistics, asset management, and supply chain strategies that are essential to the success of nuclear-grade systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of activities for the principal rotating and electrical generation equipment, and supporting systems.
  • Monitor project progress, track actions, and drive resolution of issues through effective coordination and reporting.
  • Support alignment of forecasts, costs, and schedules to drive efficient project delivery across multiple project phases.
  • Contribute to technical reports and delivery of the final design through to manufacture.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to the successful delivery of the design and manufacture of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams to develop and implement advanced data and documentation management tools.

Who you are

We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery in technically complex and fast-paced environments, where safety, security, and environmental responsibility are paramount. Ideally you’ll bring experience from the nuclear energy sector or another similarly regulated industry.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: with the ability to work across multiple project stakeholder groups and individuals.

Attention to detail: ensure accuracy of data / information collection and reporting.

Teamwork: collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Adaptability: work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.

The Skills:

  • Degree qualification in an engineering, technical or project management related discipline.
  • Evidence of experience in a project management or support role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable working within a multi-disciplinary team which is made up of Engineers or Managers from different disciplines.
  • Previously working experience in high safety and quality required environment such as Oil & Gas, MoD.

Desirable

  • Previous engineering or project management experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Formal Project Management experience (such as PMP or APM qualifications or accreditation).
