Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £60,000 – £67,500 per annum

Sizewell C (SZC) is at the heart of the UK\’s clean energy revolution. This ground-breaking nuclear power plant project in Suffolk will play a vital role in delivering a sustainable future. Backed by EDF and the UK Government, Sizewell C is a once-in-a-generation project with significant opportunities to innovate, grow, and deliver excellence.
The Role
The Utilities Project Manager will report directly to the Utilities Senior Manager and will be responsible for the direction and management of activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a Utilities contract or work package assigned to them, in accordance with the programme schedule and delivery budget.
You will ensure planning and delivery are in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. The role involves providing management to ensure the effective delivery of your Utilities scope as part of the overarching Civils Programme of SZC, while recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project. The Utilities Project Manager will develop the Implementation plan for delivering the Utilities scope within the agreed constraints, covering new connections, diversionary and protective measures, and monitoring, repair, and maintenance of utilities across SZC sites.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing all utilities project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Defining work scope and delivering within it, complying with relevant regulations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones.
- Implementing best practices in project management to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Overseeing contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and standards.
- Managing stakeholders and building relationships with delivery partners, site teams, and operations.
- Supporting the Utilities Manager in delivering the utility strategy and improving safety and delivery.
- Demonstrating industry knowledge of utility services, including Telecommunications, Potable Water, Foul Water, Natural Gas, Power, and Sub-stations.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in utility services and project management.
- Knowledge of service avoidance and safe digging practices.
- Understanding of BWIC and CDM Regulations.
- Proven delivery track record in similar environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to handle complex issues and work as part of a team.
- Ability to pass security clearances and CTC checks.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in Roads & Streetworks Act, Utilities Safety (EUSR), Water Hygiene, SMSTS, CAD, or Microsoft Project.
