About The Role Are you motivated by a fast‑paced environment and enjoy being challenged?

If you are confident in managing stakeholders, building trusted relationships and fostering mutual understanding, we want you on our team.

The Opportunity As a Personnel Security Manager you will integrate and engage with EDF and Sizewell C nuclear businesses across the UK.

You will lead the delivery of effective personnel security arrangements, from counter‑insider policy development and risk management to stakeholder engagement and tailored advice that meets the unique regulatory requirements of the civil nuclear sector.

The role is based at Gloucester Business Park with on‑site work in the office and regular travel to EDF and new‑build sites; a hybrid working model is available where security classification allows.

Who You Are You are an experienced manager with proven leadership, strong expertise in personnel security and counter‑insider risk, and sound, balanced judgement.

You are comfortable operating in a complex, highly regulated environment and can navigate a diverse stakeholder landscape.

You demonstrate an agile mindset, moving seamlessly from strategic direction to tactical delivery.

Qualifications Deep technical knowledge of UK vetting standards and requirements.

Experience designing and implementing counter‑insider programmes and mitigations.

Proven senior stakeholder engagement with government departments, regulators and national agencies.

Strong, credible track record within a recognised security profession.

Risk management expertise, including UK nuclear legislation, site licence conditions, complex security threats, and conducting personnel security vulnerability assessments using NPSA‑recognised methodologies.

Armed Forces experience is an advantage if you have worked in protective security, personnel assurance, intelligence, vetting, policing, security operations, risk management or the protection of sensitive information.

Responsibilities Set the strategic direction and priorities for the branch in partnership with the senior leadership team.

Manage budgets, resources and overall performance across the function.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with regulators and senior stakeholders.

Lead, develop and inspire a team of technical specialists across personnel security.

Direct, guide and influence activities from design and commissioning of new‑build projects, through fleet operations, to defueling and transition to decommissioning.

Oversee central support services, including vetting delivery (such as Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearances), functional assurance, governance and insider risk management.

Requirements To be appointed to this role you must meet the criteria for Developed Vetting (DV).

Generally, you will need British residency for the last five years.

Pay, Benefits and Culture Alongside a competitive salary, potential for an annual bonus and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package includes customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers and experience days.
