What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working as part of a shift team under the direction of an experienced team leader and shift manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that plant and equipment is monitored and maintained in accordance with strict procedures and directives.
  • Monitoring plant conditions, identifying and resolving sub‑standard conditions through work requests and performing minor tool pouch maintenance.
  • Responding to requests from the control room to investigate plant alarms and perform required operations.
  • Controlling and closely monitoring plant and equipment to support the process by following procedures.
  • Applying conservative decision‑making techniques and working effectively within a team environment.
  • Showing a solid understanding of plant operation, design and theory (comprehensive training will be provided).
  • Investigating and rectifying plant faults within your own area of demonstrated competence.
  • Conducting plant operations, lifting activities and health physics monitoring as required.
  • As a member of the onsite Emergency Response Team, you will be trained in breathing apparatus, firefighting, casualty rescue, first aid (FREC 3), confined space entry and working at height.

Who You Are

  • Experience of mechanical, engineering, operational or process work with supporting qualifications.
  • Good level of computer literacy (e.g., Word, Excel, bespoke systems).
  • Strong general literacy (ability to read and follow written process instructions and complete paperwork accurately).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn, broaden your knowledge base and undertake a continuing training programme.
  • Ability to work as part of a small shift team and communicate clearly with other station functions.
  • As a minimum, entrants will be educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards (or equivalent).

Applications for this role close on Tuesday 19th May 2026. Recruitment will take place via a one‑day assessment centre on either 17th or 18th June 2026. To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Counter‑Terrorist Check (CTC) which will ordinarily require you to have British residency for the last three years.
