This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £24,500 and the chance to work on site at one of our #Heysham Power Stations. You will be part of a team that plays a vital role in ensuring safe reactor operations and compliance with nuclear safety cases. You will get stuck into real-world challenges, supported by experts who will help you grow.

During your Nuclear Safety Group Industrial Placement, you will support the daily operations of our Nuclear Safety Team. Past students have contributed to safety case reviews, supported compliance assessments, and worked on initiatives that ensure safe and reliable generation. You will be immersed in the world of nuclear safety, learning from experts and applying your skills to meaningful challenges. This placement offers a rich learning experience and a chance to make a real impact in a critical area of the energy industry.

You will be based on site at one of the #Heysham Power Stations, within the Nuclear Safety Group.

To be eligible for this scheme, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (maths, physics, engineering or other science/engineering disciplines). To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
