We are seeking a dedicated OPEX Coordinator to join the team at Heysham 2 and play a key role in delivering an effective and continuously improving Operating Experience (OPEX) programme. This role is central to driving learning, insights, and performance improvement across the station.
Reporting to the Organisational Learning Lead, this role offers a valuable opportunity to develop your analytical capability, problem‑solving skills, and influence across the organisation while contributing directly to station performance.
The salary for this role is from £45,641 to £95,993, dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences, and qualifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement all OPEX programme requirements in line with BEG/SPEC/OL/302 – OPEX Implementation.
- Manage reporting of EDF events to external bodies.
- Lead and support the Self‑Assessment, Benchmarking and SOER programmes (BEG/SPEC/OL/303 & BEG/SPEC/OL/304).
- Act as the station’s WANO Operating Experience Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
- Identify and assess internal and external OPEX items for station relevance.
- Support development and delivery of OPEX briefs, newsletters, and learning both locally and across the fleet.
- Provide analysis, insights and data to support performance reviews and decision‑making.
- Prepare significant event reports for external dissemination, including WANO Event Reports (WERs).
- Deliver OPEX‑related training where required.
- Champion OPEX culture, driving learning and embedding improvement across teams.
- Support the wider Organisational Learning team to identify and resolve performance gaps in behaviours, plant, processes or organisation.
- Represent the station within fleet OPEX review processes and ensure adoption of best practice.
The successful candidate will also take the role of Business Continuity Coordinator, joining the fleet BC peer group and acting as the single point of contact on site for ensuring the appropriate response arrangements are established.
You’ll bring strong analytical and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders. HNC or an equivalent technical qualification is essential. Experience / familiarity with CAP/OPEX processes, investigation methodologies, AMS action tracking, OPEX tools such as Context Search, Organisational Learning Portal and Business Objects would be advantageous.
