We're now looking for a Head of Documents and Records to lead a growing team of Record Leads and Document Controllers to ensure overall compliance with nuclear industry and major project best practice in documented information and records management of all activities across the Sizewell C project organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Sizewell C team. If you're an experienced IM Manager, Head of IM, or Head of Information Systems who has worked on complex, fast-paced, large-scale infrastructure projects, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
Responsibilities:
- As Head of Documents and Records, you will work to ensure that the documented information and records management arrangements and requirements are clearly communicated for effective deployment by the organisation and its supply chain.
- Support the Quality Director to discharge responsibilities for compliance with several Nuclear Site License Conditions.
- Accountable and responsible for all documented information and records management processes across the Project and its Programmes.
- Lead a mixed team of around 45-50 people - comprising both permanent staff and embedded contractors - providing strategic direction and operational leadership across the wider function.
- Manage the organisation's corporate compliance records, ensuring they are accurate, accessible and compliant with all legal, regulatory and licence-based requirements.
- Ensure decisions made have a direct impact on nuclear safety, requiring rigorous governance, strong professional judgement and robust standards for document control and records integrity.
Who You Are:
We're seeking a proactive project professional with strong experience in strategic project management and major project delivery - ideally involving heavy diesel equipment, rotating plant, turbines, submarines, or conventional island power plants.
You’ll have the technical confidence to translate complex engineering concepts for various audiences and bring proven expertise in design delivery, contract execution, cost management, and risk control. Familiarity with Earned Value tools and managing commercial claims is important.
This role offers genuine long-term career development, with opportunities to progress into senior leadership positions within the nuclear island programme or other major delivery programmes across Sizewell C.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification demonstrating relevant technical, organisational, and management skills.
- Recognised Quality qualification and accreditations, with experience in the application of relevant codes and standards (e.g. ISO9001/19443, GSR2, ISO14001 and ISO 45001).
- Strong leadership experience working with senior management, regulators (e.g., ONR, EA), and supply chain partners.
- Proven ability to lead large Quality teams and promote collaborative, cross-functional working.
- Good understanding of Quality processes related to Records Management in a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Fully proficient in modern documented information and records management, EDRMS operation, and project controls in multi-discipline organisations.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
Desirable:
- Chartered Member of an appropriate professional institution.
- Previous experience within the nuclear industry.
- Knowledge & understanding of the nuclear industry/Nuclear Site License conditions.
