We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Instructor to join the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation here at Sizewell B.

The Opportunity

  • The provision of a service which includes analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of training to meet customer needs effectively.
  • Development and delivery of initial training across the Engineering Support and Generalist Training Programmes, covering the fundamental knowledge and site foundation modules requirements.
  • Development and delivery of continuing training across Engineering Support Programmes roles as per the various Training Programme Description.
  • Act as course coordinator and administrator for the Engineering Support Programme.
  • Supporting with accreditation renewal and maintaining accreditation standard across the Engineering and Technical Programmes.
  • Take ownership and deliver a range of generalist Training courses to the wider station population.
  • Fully contribute to the objectives of the Sizewell B Performance Improvement department supporting the achievement of the business unit and company organisational goals.

What you’ll be doing

Principal Accountabilities

  • Accountable to the Technical Lead Instructor & Training Group Head for the delivery of all work.
  • Produce material for, monitor quality of, deliver, and enhance continuing and initial training programs.
  • Improve business performance of ESP Programmes via the delivery of high quality training.
  • Support and guide the Engineering Programme training program through re-accreditation.

Who you are

Individuals should ideally hold an appropriate qualification at HNC level or equivalent and have Engineering Experience (preferably at a P.W.R. Station). All Instructors should be or would be expected to become Fleet Certified Instructors. You will also have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills and be a good communicator. Prior experience in an instructional role will be a benefit. Whilst this vacancy is primarily focused around the requirement to fill an Engineering biased instructor’s position, anyone with an interest in joining the training team to support the delivery of the Engineering Support and Generalist training programmes is encouraged to apply. To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
