About The Role
We’re currently recruiting a Business Improvement Lead at Sizewell B Power Station for our Business Improvement team.
The Opportunity
Within the Business department, we are looking for you to join our highly motivated and multi‑skilled team. You’ll be responsible for delivering demonstrable enhancements in both personnel and plant performance across the station, ensuring that business improvement activities are fully aligned with company/station strategy, and industry best practice. You will interface widely across the site and fleet, supporting peer reviews, business planning and benchmarking. Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary range associated with this role is between £45,641 - £95,993, and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What You’ll Be Doing
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving improvement activities across the station and will play a critical role in helping to deliver demonstrable improvements towards our safe, outage, life extension and generation goals. They will work closely with station leadership and fleet functions to align local activities with fleet‑wide strategies and best practices. A significant portion of the role involves engaging with station staff and stakeholders to identify performance gaps, implement improvement plans, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and execution of the station business plan with clear performance targets, priorities and strategies to achieve industry‑leading performance.
- Coordinate and integrate improvement activities across station departments.
- Drive business improvement by identifying performance gaps, analysing causes and leading corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead activities including workshops, engagement events, benchmarking, self‑assessments and investigations linked to organisational learning/business improvement topics.
- Establish and manage accurate reporting and governance of key performance metrics.
- Interface effectively with WANO, NSRB and other oversight bodies, ensuring robust follow‑up and monitoring of improvement actions.
- Actively participate in fleet peer groups and leadership forums, aligning local improvement activity with corporate strategy and sharing best practice, including Lean principles.
Who You Are
The minimum qualification for this role is HNC (or level 4 equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline and it may be advantageous if you hold a relevant degree. You will have/will be:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Able to build relationships with a wide network of people (both within the station and externally), influence and bring teams together.
- Strong leadership skills, in or out of work.
- Able to give self‑direction and work autonomously with flexibility.
- Able to think creatively to facilitate solutions.
- Experience of performance metric and improvement plan monitoring, reporting and delivery.
- An understanding of organisational learning, performance improvement and business planning processes.
- Competency in Microsoft Applications.
- Experience in supporting investigations and delivering engaging workshops or presentations, is desirable.
