Overview

EDF UK is looking for a student to join the in‑house Digital & Content team on a one‑year Creative Content Industrial Placement (start 1 September 2026). The placement focuses on motion design, animation and digital storytelling across web, social media, intranet and internal publications, supporting the company’s Net Zero mission.

Responsibilities

  • Create motion graphics, animated explainers and short‑form video content for internal and external campaigns.
  • Support the production of social‑first animations and video edits designed to drive engagement.
  • Work with designers and producers to translate static assets into motion‑based outputs.
  • Assist in the development of storyboards, visual concepts and animation styles.
  • Contribute to video shoots and post‑production editing, including sound, colour grading and motion overlays.
  • Learn how motion and animation play a key role in corporate storytelling and brand communication.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced in‑house creative team across video, motion design, graphic design and digital content.
  • Gain an understanding of how motion‑led content enhances communication effectiveness across channels.
  • Develop stakeholder management skills by working with various business units and senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • On track to achieve (or have achieved) a 2:2 degree in a relevant discipline such as motion graphics, animation, video production, graphic design or digital media.
  • Passionate about animation, motion design and visual storytelling.
  • Proficient in (or developing proficiency with) After Effects (essential), Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of additional animation or 3D tools is desirable but not essential.
  • Able to think creatively about communicating ideas through movement and interaction, not just static visuals.
  • Keen to learn and develop in a high‑performing corporate creative environment.

Starting salary of £26,000, a market‑leading pension scheme and a range of benefits covering formal and personal needs. Flexible working arrangements are available, allowing office, on‑site or remote work, with periodic travel to London.

Location and Working Arrangements

Based in Brighton and Hove. Initially spent a few weeks in the office, then a split schedule between office and home with occasional travel to London.
