The Opportunity: As a Health & Safety Manager, you’ll be at the heart of delivering our Zero Harm ambition across a diverse and rapidly growing portfolio. You’ll influence, drive and embed HSE strategy, ensuring that preventing harm is a positive lever for business performance and sustainable growth. Reporting into the Central HSE team, you’ll work across the full project lifecycle, from design and early development through to delivery and operations. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across engineering, construction and operations, as well as external partners, regulators and industry bodies, shaping best practice and strengthening our safety culture. You’ll travel across the UK and Ireland to support projects, stakeholders and the wider HSE community.
Location: Working on a Hybrid basis from one of our offices, London, Edinburgh or Durham. We offer a Flexible First approach to work, meaning you can work comfortably from home with our offices as your base location.
Who You Are: We’re looking for a Health and Safety Manager who is proactive, influential and committed to championing Zero Harm across our UK and Ireland activities. You’ll bring strong technical expertise and the confidence to guide senior leaders and project teams.
To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Degree‑level qualification in HSE or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and compliance requirements across the UK and Ireland
- Robust experience with CDM 2015 and the Irish equivalent
- Experience in auditing, compliance, reporting and analytics; Chartered IOSH membership or NEBOSH Diploma
- Relevant professional qualification, such as NEBOSH Diploma and Chartered membership of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH)
- Environmental qualification desirable, for example an Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IMEA) qualification
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
What You’ll Be Doing: Supporting the development and deployment of the Zero Harm HSE strategy, setting HSE standards and providing leadership, reporting and guidance to business leaders, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and the Irish equivalent across projects, delivering and supporting HSE audits to drive continuous improvement, overseeing investigations into high potential and serious incidents to ensure effective corrective actions, and supporting the delivery and analysis of accurate HSE statistical management information including providing statistical analysis of incidents from base data to help identify future focus areas and reduce key risks.
