Ready to help shape the commercial strategies that support Britain's journey to net zero? Energised by financial modelling, data analytics and market insight? At EDF, Success is Personal - and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Margin Analyst, you'll play a key role in our Commercial and Performance team - the nerve centre of our Retail business. Sitting at the heart of EDF's commercial engine, the team shapes pricing and proposition strategy for over 3 million customers, playing a major part in gross margin and profitability. Operating at the intersection of customer behaviour, competitor dynamics and £2bn+ of hedging activity, the team turns market insight into decisive commercial action. In this role, you'll take a hands‑on lead in designing and pricing the next generation of energy products from EV and heat pump tariffs to flexibility propositions, directly influencing growth, retention and customer lifetime value. You'll own high-impact commercial decisions, from forecasting demand to building lifetime value models, working closely with data, product and commercial teams to deliver value for customers and accelerate the journey to net zero. This is a flexible role, with occasional travel to one of our #EDF offices.
Who You Are
You're a commercially minded Senior Margin Analyst who enjoys turning complex data into clear, confident decisions. You combine strong financial modelling expertise with curiosity, collaboration and a willingness to challenge the status quo. To succeed, you'll bring:
- Strong commercial and financial capability, with advanced financial modelling skills (e.g. Discounted Cash Flows, Lifetime Value) and confidence interpreting performance outcomes
- A data-led, analytical mindset, using Excel, SQL, Alteryx and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau) to uncover trends, test scenarios and tell compelling stories
- Experience working in agile environments, balancing rigour with pace and an iterative, value-focused approach
- A customer and growth‑oriented outlook, contributing hands‑on to proposition development and continuously looking for smarter ways to do things
- The confidence to influence, building trusted relationships across commercial and non‑commercial teams and presenting clear, well‑judged recommendations
- Knowledge of the energy market and regulatory landscape, or the ability to quickly build it
What You'll Be Doing
You'll sit at the heart of commercial decision-making, shaping margin strategy and future‑facing propositions across Retail. Your role will include:
- Building and owning financial models to support investment decisions, pricing and margin strategy
- Identifying market opportunities that drive value for EDF and our customers
- Developing and assessing innovative propositions, including EV tariffs and flexibility services
- Forecasting customer growth, energy demand and portfolio performance
- Acting as a commercial partner to stakeholders across Retail, translating insight into action
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a starting salary of £44,800 per annum (DOE), potential for an annual bonus, and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
