About the Role

Are you ready to lead the engineering expertise behind some of the UK's most important renewable energy projects? As Project Engineering Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering onshore wind developments, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are designed, built, and commissioned safely and successfully. At EDF Power Solutions, we’re delivering an Electric UK and Ireland. Your leadership will help shape the future of clean energy, coordinating engineering activities across a portfolio of projects and supporting the transition to a net‑zero future.

The Opportunity

Our Onshore Delivery Engineering team within the Central Technical Organisation (CTO) provides engineering delivery predominantly across onshore wind projects throughout the UK and Ireland from early‑stage development and financing through construction, commissioning and handover to operations. As Project Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the engineering delivery of renewable energy projects across our onshore wind portfolio, ensuring multidisciplinary teams work together and influence critical design decisions to deliver safe, high‑quality, and commercially successful outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop a talented team of Project Engineers.

Who You Are

To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • A background in the development, design or construction of power generation or large‑scale infrastructure projects
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams within a multi‑project environment, including resource planning and performance management
  • Strong capability in managing engineering risks, assumptions, interfaces and design decisions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Experience working with consultants and contractors to deliver engineering work packages, with an understanding of commercial and contractual requirements
  • Ability to discharge Principal Designer and/or Project Supervisor Design Process statutory duties
  • Engineering and/or project management experience within the renewable energy sector, particularly onshore wind projects
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required across project locations

It would also be beneficial (but not essential) to have:

  • Experience within wind or renewable energy
  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines including turbine, civil, electrical, operational technology, wind analysis or grid
  • Experience coordinating engineering activities through project decision points (stage gates, etc.)
  • Engineering or Project management experience or qualification

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating design management and supporting EDF ps in discharging the duties of PD and PSDP for onshore wind projects
  • Leading project engineering activities from front‑end engineering design (FEED) through detailed and delivered design stages
  • Planning, prioritising and coordinating project engineering resources across multiple concurrent projects in collaboration with business unit stakeholders
  • Leading design reviews and value engineering exercises to ensure solutions are safe, buildable and cost‑effective
  • Developing, coordinating, reviewing and approving technical specifications and Employer’s Requirements across turbine, electrical and civil contracts
  • Supporting tender evaluations and addressing technical queries during procurement processes
  • Mentoring and developing members of the project engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and technical excellence
