At EDF, “Success is Personal”, and in this role you’ll play a defining part in the future of low‑carbon energy while shaping a career that reflects your ambitions.
As a Senior Project Manager within the Conventional Island Turbine team on Hinkley Point C, you will take a central role in delivering major installation activities that support the project’s contribution to the transition towards An Electric Britain. You’ll be accountable for the successful planning and delivery of mechanical installation works across both the Turbine and Conventional Islands, ensuring that safety, quality, time and cost targets are achieved on one of the most complex infrastructure programmes in the world.
You’ll work within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment that balances on‑site collaboration with the flexibility needed to perform at your best. In this position, you will be at the forefront of delivering the world’s largest steam turbines—overseeing critical interfaces, leading diverse multidisciplinary teams, and driving the detailed planning and risk management that underpin successful delivery. This role also offers exceptional professional development opportunities, working closely with senior leaders and technical specialists across one of the UK’s most ambitious engineering projects, supporting both your expertise and your journey towards An Electric Britain.
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager with proven experience leading delivery in complex, highly regulated environments, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and managing intricate technical interfaces. Are you experienced in…
- Delivering major projects within regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, or large‑scale infrastructure
- Applying project management qualifications such as APM PPQ, or holding an equivalent certification
- Managing turbine system infrastructure activities (installation, commissioning and/or operation)
- Leading multi‑discipline EPCM projects with strong cost, schedule, risk and change control
- Working with NEC or FIDIC contracts and using earned value, estimating, scheduling, and risk tools
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the delivery of mechanical installation activities across Turbine and Conventional Islands
- Managing key contracts and detailed L3/L4 schedules that define weekly and monthly work sequences
- Driving safety, quality, cost, and programme performance across all areas of responsibility
- Leading and developing a diverse project team and establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and resource needs
- Overseeing risk management, budget control, change processes, and interfaces between internal and external stakeholders
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will ordinarily require you to have British residency for the last five years.
Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more. At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you.
