About The Role
Finance Analyst
Full-Time, Permanent. Contractual Location: Hinkley Point C – Minimum 3-4 days a week in office.
Step into a career where your financial insight helps shape the future of sustainable energy. As a Finance Analyst at EDF UK, you’ll be at the heart of one of Europe’s most ambitious infrastructure projects—Hinkley Point C—supporting the delivery of low-carbon electricity to millions of homes. If you\’re ready to make a meaningful impact while growing your career in a dynamic, inclusive environment, this is your opportunity.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As a Finance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial performance of a multi-billion-pound project. You’ll work closely with Financial Control Managers and Senior Analysts to deliver strategic financial advice, insightful reporting, and performance reviews. Your work will help optimise investment returns and drive key performance indicators across the HPC programme.
You’ll collaborate with planning, commercial, and project control teams to produce high-quality financial analytics. Your expertise will help shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and ensure consistency in financial messaging across the project.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
In addition to a competitive salary of ÂŁ40,000, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone\’s working needs are different. Whether you\’re in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner in financial governance, helping to ensure accountability and transparency across the HPC programme. You’ll provide insightful commentary and support financial reviews that influence strategic decisions.
You’ll analyse budgets, forecasts, and performance data—challenging assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings. Your work will include cash forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting accurate funding requests from shareholders.
You’ll also coach teams on financial processes, support audits, and assist with administrative tasks such as budget adjustments and journal postings. Your contribution will help maintain financial integrity and drive continuous improvement across the project.
Who You Are
You’re someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and builds strong relationships with stakeholders. Your communication skills are excellent, and you know how to present complex financial ideas in a clear, engaging way. You’re commercially astute, action-oriented, and confident in navigating competing demands.
You bring strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, using both logic and intuition to support decision-making. You understand the external factors influencing the energy sector and are passionate about delivering value through financial insight.
You’ll have solid commercial or business experience and be fully or partly qualified with a recognised UK accounting body (e.g. ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA). Experience with SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI, or ECOSYS is a plus, and you’ve supported performance reviews and internal relationships in previous roles.
Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
Closing date for applications is Sunday 24th August, interviews will follow shortly after.
