We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Asset Operations Technical Service & Delivery (TS&D) team. As the Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for providing Electrical Operation and Maintenance Engineering. You will be working on a diverse portfolio of offshore wind assets primarily based at NNG Windfarm in Eyemouth as your main focus, with the expectation to work on other offshore assets as required, travelling within the UK and Ireland when needed.

What You Will Be Doing Day To Day

  • Leading by example and maintaining the highest standards to comply with HSEQ requirements.
  • Providing in-field Electrical engineering expertise and support at a site level across the full portfolio of offshore assets.
  • Supporting Asset Operation teams with Electrical / Electromechanical planned preventative maintenance as well as emergent / fault conditions on the EBoP and associated generation plant / equipment.
  • Reviewing / creating work scopes, work instructions and quality plans.
  • Maintaining a questioning attitude, challenging current thinking and processes to seek alternative methods of working.
  • Driving continuous improvement, reviewing / setting standards and developing cases for consideration contributing to asset improvement, performance gains and efficiency.
  • Identifying robust and innovative solutions and ensuring advances in technology are utilised, upgrading existing assets and future-proofing others.
  • Managing technical queries raised by team members, contractors and suppliers.
  • Managing the Asset Change Management process to ensure modifications, retrofits and repairs are documented accordingly.
  • Reviewing, updating, amending and approving site documentation against schemas such as single line diagrams, electrical drawings and test data.
  • Identifying and categorising risks and adding them to the appropriate risk register with correct RAG status.
  • Defining output requirements for external technical specialists and ensuring reporting such as Root Cause Analysis supports asset integrity.
  • Identifying target areas relating to operational asset performance for site and wider business improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with the EDF Power Solutions asset management policy and contributing to its development where required.
  • Training to become Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under the EDF Power Solutions E&M Safety Rules.

What You Need To Be Great At This Role

  • Proven leader able to deliver projects and programs.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Defect management and prioritisation.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality.
  • Responsible and accountable in supporting the Asset Operations and wider team.
  • Experience installing / operating / maintaining / testing HV switchgear, transformers, cables (XLPE), joints and terminations of all kinds.
  • Minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical / Electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent).
  • Experience in power generation sector including renewable technologies; offshore experience desirable.
  • Physically fit to climb and comfortable working at height and offshore as required.
  • Excellent at building relationships with external partners, stakeholders and internal reporting lines.
  • Flexibility to travel around the UK and overseas as required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
