The Opportunity

This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of ÂŁ24,500 and the chance to work at our Torness Power Station in Scotland.

You’ll take on a real job at a junior level, gaining hands‑on experience while being supported by experienced colleagues and mentors. You’ll contribute to projects that support safe and efficient operations, organisational learning and continuous improvement across the station.

This placement offers the chance to apply your academic knowledge to real‑world challenges. You’ll build your confidence, develop your career and make a meaningful contribution in a supportive and inclusive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

During your Business Performance Industrial Placement, you’ll gain practical experience in a professional environment. Past students have supported the development of human performance programmes, investigated events and carried out benchmarking, authored learning briefs and OE reports, and analysed data to identify trends.

You may also contribute to communications campaigns, training initiatives and business planning activities that help the station deliver sustainable results. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based at our Torness Power Station in Scotland (EH42), where you’ll work alongside experienced teams and gain exposure to the operational side of nuclear energy. This location offers a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues and contribute to a key part of our business.

Who You Are

To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Business Management, Psychology, Human Factors or any Science and Engineering discipline.
