Department: IT Delivery Team – Control Functions. The team is responsible for developing bespoke software to support Treasury, Finance, Tax, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Product Control departments of EDF Trading.

Position purpose: The team's core responsibility includes developing bespoke systems, reporting solutions and integrations into proprietary and third party vendor systems to meet the business needs for Treasury, Finance, Tax, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Product Control. The team focus is on delivering solutions that are best-in-class and strategically aligned.

The role involves understanding needs across a broad spectrum of business areas, to deliver a diverse set of solutions requiring determining the scope, planning and prioritising through to defining the requirements and working together in an agile way with a team of developers and QA in a very hands-on manner at all stages of lifecycle to ensure a timely delivery.

Experience required:

  • Minimum of ten years working preferably within a commodities trading/banking organisation
  • Understanding of energy commodity fundamentals including different trades types
  • Experience of implementing reporting solutions in an energy trading organisation
  • Proficient in application of SQL and APIs for complex data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Experience of capturing complex requirements in a clear, concise and testable way
  • Familiarity of Agile Scrum/Kanban methodology

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex functional requirements to technical teams
  • Ability to work effectively with the business stakeholders at different levels within the organisation
  • Effective organisational and planning abilities
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to follow tasks to completion
  • Able to context-switch, take the initiative and deliver quality in a fast paced environment

Hours of work: 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility required.
