EDF Trading is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our collaborative and skilled team designing, building and running our infrastructure, platforms and systems. The IT Infrastructure at EDF Trading covers High Availability Trading systems, high performance computing (HPC), big data, public cloud and on-prem servers based in our data centres. Our systems are split between on-prem and Azure cloud, they are primarily VMWare and Windows based, but knowledge of Linux is beneficial as we also run Linux, Kubernetes and Kafka amongst many other systems.

- Work across a broad range of technologies in a diverse role covering Support, project work and design.
- Take ownership of complex technical issues through to resolution, collaborating with your colleagues, users and other IT Teams.
- Ensure the highest level of availability and performance on critical trading infrastructure.
- Responsible for day-to-day management, supporting, and monitoring of our server estate, comprising primarily of Windows Servers, VMWare, Azure and On-Prem Servers.
- Participate in projects including upgrades, continuous improvement of our infrastructure, and collaborating with the wider business to design and deliver Infrastructure as required.
- Automate common tasks and processes to reduce overhead and improve reliability.
- Ensure the availability of all Infrastructure, from design, operation, and including DR and DR tests.
- Monitor the enterprise environment managing availability, performance and capacity.
- Management, and support of other infrastructure systems, including Backup, SAN Storage, Citrix.
- Broad technical knowledge of modern IT Infrastructure technologies, and strong desire to continue to learn and expand your knowledge.
- Technical troubleshooting of complex issues and owning issues through to resolution.
- Experience working in a complex and fast-moving environment where system availability is critical.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders in IT and across the wider business and build positive and professional relationships.
- In depth understanding and experience of Windows server, VMWare ESX, Microsoft Azure and related technologies (Including Active Directory, PowerShell, Failover Clustering, DFS, Entra ID, etc).
