As we grow our renewable portfolio and progress towards net zero, this role sits at the intersection of technology, finance and operational excellence. You will help ensure that our core enterprise systems deliver measurable value, today and into the future.

The Opportunity

As IFS Technical Lead, you will own the technical direction and ongoing success of our IFS estate. You will ensure effective design, implementation, integration and optimisation of IFS, aligning system capability with business priorities and operational needs. Working closely with Digital, IT and Finance stakeholders, you will act as a trusted advisor, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions. You will oversee third‑party partners, maintain system stability, and drive continuous improvement across the IFS platform. This role supports EDF Power Solutions’ growth strategy by enabling scalable, reliable systems that underpin efficiency, quality and insight across the UK and Ireland. The role is based within the Finance directorate and offers flexibility around location.

Location

Working on a Hybrid basis from one of our offices, Edinburgh, Durham or London. We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, meaning you can work comfortably from home with our offices as your base location.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning the technical design, configuration and ongoing improvement of the IFS platform
  • Leading IFS implementations, upgrades and enhancements across multiple modules
  • Acting as the primary technical authority for IFS across the organisation
  • Translating business and operational requirements into effective system solutions
  • Leading engagement with IFS as a product vendor regarding releases, roadmap features, and technical guidance ensuring system performance, data integrity, security and service levels
  • Managing incidents and problems through to root cause resolution, applying change control processes, and maintaining technical knowledge documentation
  • Providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing to internal teams
  • Embedding security best practices across the IFS development lifecycle, including investigation and response to security incidents
  • Managing budgets associated with IFS support, development, and vendor services
  • Reporting to governance groups and steering boards on platform health, risks, delivery progress, and decisions required
  • Acting as a champion for the IFS platform and the wider digital agenda across the organisation

Who You Are

We’re looking for an IFS Technical Lead who is proactive, collaborative, and committed. You’ll bring a strong sense of responsibility and a willingness to learn. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • Strong experience working with IFS Cloud, with solid functional understanding of Projects, Procurement, and Asset Management modules
  • Proven track record delivering IFS updates, releases, patches, and managing support cases within a controlled change environment
  • Experience managing a Continuous Improvement pipeline, including qualification, prioritisation, and delivery of enhancements
  • Background in leading IFS development and testing activities, including configuration, integrations, and quality assurance
  • Experience selecting and managing external IFS support partners, including performance management, SLAs, and issue escalation
  • Ability to translate IT Project requirements into procured delivery from trusted partners and assure high quality, supportable solutions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across operational teams, IT, and governance groups

You're comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands‑on problem solving — whether you're presenting to a steering board, reviewing a vendor's delivery, or digging into a configuration issue, you take ownership and get it done. You bring a natural curiosity to your work — questioning how things are done today, exploring how they could work better, and staying close to the IFS product roadmap to spot opportunities before they're obvious.
