In this role, you’ll help onboard newly acquired turbines, support operational performance across our wind fleet, and contribute to the growth of renewable energy across the UK. Your technical expertise will help maintain safe, reliable generation while supporting our net zero ambitions.

The Opportunity

As a Travelling Wind Turbine Technician, you’ll take a leading role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving wind turbine assets across the UK. You’ll work on a variety of turbine platforms, share technical knowledge with colleagues, and support the successful integration of newly acquired turbines into our portfolio. You’ll be based from our Goole Service Centre in East Yorkshire. For this role, you’ll live within 45 minutes of site, hold a full UK driving licence, and be willing to travel to other locations across the UK when required to support operational activities.

You’ll benefit from ongoing development opportunities, including technical and safety training, the chance to become a Multi-Skilled Authorised Technician, and opportunities to progress into Senior Authorised Person responsibilities. Who You Are

We’re looking for a Travelling Wind Turbine Technician who is safety-focused, comfortable working at height, and committed to maintaining high-performing renewable energy assets. You'll enjoy practical engineering work, be willing to travel, and thrive in a collaborative field-based environment.

To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • Previous experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, or significant electrical maintenance experience within an engineering environment
  • Experience working on three-phase electrical systems or heavy plant electrical equipment
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability to live within approximately 45 minutes of the Goole Service Centre
  • The ability to work at height and travel to other UK sites when required

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance activities on wind turbines to high standards
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex faults across electrical, hydraulic and converter systems
  • Undertaking major component replacements including gearboxes, generators and transformers
  • Supporting the onboarding and technical improvement of newly acquired turbine assets
  • Working safely under EDF power solutions Wind Turbine Safety Rules
  • Completing technical and safety training to develop your skills and authorisations
  • Collaborating within a two-person working party and wider operational team
  • Supporting turbine performance and availability across multiple UK locations

Reward: £36,500 - £48,500 according to experience (We have a graded reward package to suit new entrants to the renewables industry through to the most experienced Wind Turbine Technicians).

Working hours - New Technician (37hrs) plus overtime is available.
