We have a newly created opportunity for someone to join us as a Compliance Training and Communications Officer to support ED&F Man’s corporate compliance function reporting to the Deputy Head of Compliance. The role provides long term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment.
Established in 1783, ED&F Man is an employee-owned agricultural commodities merchant with 2,800 people in 43 countries and annual revenue in excess of $8bn. We trade sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed and fish oils. Corporate responsibility is ingrained in our culture. Key Accountabilities
- Source compliance training materials for online automated delivery.
- Coordinate face-to-face compliance training sessions for compliance team for delivery across the business.
- Work with IT to ensure the online compliance training modules are uploaded to the compliance system.
- Arrange external training providers to deliver compliance training to the business.
- Manage compliance training certifications and reporting processes, including following up with non-compliant training obligations.
- Develop and roll out a compliance survey across the group.
- Arrange for translation of training materials.
- Develop a series of compliance communications for communication to the group on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
- Provide general administrative and training coordination support to the compliance team.
Skills and Experience
- The ideal candidate will have compliance training and communications experience from, preferably, a physical commodity trading business; other industry sectors will be considered.
- Understanding of the relevant laws and regulations relevant to bribery, data protection and compliance in commodity trading – highly advantageous but not essential.
- Preferably prior experience of developing, creating and delivering engaging training material both face to face and online.
- Confidence and capability to deliver face-to-face and virtual training to small to medium size employee groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Fully conversant in MS Office and able to quickly learn how to navigate new IT systems.
