Principal Accountabilities:
- Drive an Integrated Planning framework, integrated with Reporting and Interdependencies focused on alignment of top down/bottom-up reporting from strategic levels, through Level 1 to Level 5 for the WIC scope of works within the nuclear island and conventional island & balance of plant areas.
- Develop and maintain the WIC schedule baseline integrated work schedule (IWS) with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising effective techniques.
- Support the Area management organisation to ensure that significant risks/opportunities associated with the WIC scope of works are adequately assessed based on evidence and balanced judgement to underpin regular, timely and accurate information.
- Enable robust review, challenge of delivery & schedule level reporting that impacts overall Project level strategic delivery.
- Timely production and focussed updates of area Planning and Schedule reporting to key stakeholders, to a defined reporting cycle.
- Drive and challenge strategies for Baseline Schedule project delivery sequence.
- Continuous development of the Planning team approach by capturing and sharing operational experience and learning.
- Analyse and assimilate information to identify key risks and make evidence-based decisions to drive the Planning strategy using a pragmatic and systematic approach.
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes in keeping with the HPC project values of 'Humility, Positivity, Respect, Solidarity and Clarity' and culture of 'Trust, Transparency and Teamwork'.
- Accountable for the application of the Trend & Change process within the schedule, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators, and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
- Integration of the WIC scope of works within the HPC schedule and associated planning data.
- Accountable for ensuring the project scheduling standards and procedures are being adhered to.
- Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with EDF policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrable ability to deliver accurate and concise project insights to drive evidence-based decision making, utilising commercial and technical information, to influence project decisions and lead the management of area planning.
- Critical understanding of how the impact of changes/decisions may impact the risk profile of the project and Planning delivery.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effectively communicates complex issues and concepts (unique insights) in simple ways, to both technical and non-technical senior audiences.
- Control / Clear Understanding of the HPC PMO Digital Planning Platforms and functionality.
- Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.
- Technical and practical comprehension of EPC methods and techniques in a UK context.
- Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans.
- Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and associated software.
- Understanding of earned value analysis.
- Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC.
- Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of a degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related practical field.
- Demonstrable experience working within a Planning team for WIC works in a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear or energy) working in a role, which requires active integration management with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of practical application of Integrated Planning frameworks and methodologies, and how they are applied in the strategic and operational management of a major infrastructure project to deliver positive business outcomes.
- Expert in Planning and Project Controls technology solutions with experience of managing the implementation and effective delivery of complex projects using these software solutions.
- Proven experience of planning WIC works within highly regulated industries and complex projects.
