The Opportunity
Location: We are flexible on location with a mix of remote working and on‑site at London, Edinburgh or Durham offices. As Principal Engineering Manager Electrical & Operational Technology, you’ll lead specialist engineering teams that support renewable projects across their full lifecycle. Your direction will influence safety, quality, capability and technical standards as we grow our renewable portfolio in a competitive, fast‑moving market. Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role offers flexible working. You’ll travel occasionally for meetings or to visit sites in the UK and overseas. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and delivery teams, acting as a technical conscience for the business. From strategic planning to governance and capability building, your expertise will help keep engineering excellence central to everything we do.
Who You Are
- Principal Engineering Manager Electrical and Operational Technology with credible, decisive leadership in a complex regulatory and commercial environment.
- Strong judgement, technical authority and a passion for safe, high‑quality delivery.
- Experience in an engineering leadership role within a relevant industry context.
- Background in electrical engineering or operational technology, supported by a relevant engineering degree.
- Strong knowledge of industry frameworks, including commercial, regulatory and political considerations.
- Proven track record leading teams, delivering programmes and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK and overseas, with a full UK driving licence.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, setting the strategy and developing high‑performing electrical engineering and operational technology teams.
- Setting and maintaining engineering standards and governance across the business.
- Providing technical leadership across the full asset lifecycle, from development to operations.
- Acting as a focal point for complex technical decision‑making and risk management.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders.
