Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Works Manager and team in competence records and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, procedures and contract requirements at all times.
  • Provide HSW Support to the delivery teams in the review of project documentation.
  • Attend and support prestart planning meetings where required.
  • Undertake HSW safety engagement tours and formal inspections in line with project requirements.
  • Attend client meetings and working groups on behalf of the CWA as and when required.
  • Identify opportunities to change the way activities are undertaken to improve H&S performance.
  • Analyse data for trends and produce reports and recommendations as required.
  • Support the delivery team to investigate plant adverse events and trends.
  • Deliver training and advisory sessions to personnel and contractors as required.
  • Champion behavioural safety and the building of a positive safety culture.
  • Promote the use of technology and business systems across the project.
  • Be able to plan and monitor performance on SMART Objectives.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the wider project team in health, Safety and Wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • National Diploma or equivalent L6 qualification (or working toward).
  • Driving Licence.
  • SMSTS.

Experience

  • Strong understanding of various plant machines and plant management.
  • Strong understanding of UK H&S Regulatory Framework.
  • Experience of managing health, safety and wellbeing on complex construction and civils projects.
  • Ability to engage and converse at all levels.
  • Competence in incident & accident investigation.
  • Use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to influence others and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Ability to produce formal reports and documents.
  • Understanding of the principles behind behaviour management.
  • Use of Microsoft Vision, PowerApps and PowerBi.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Nuclear Sector
    • Tunneling activities
    • Heavy Plant operations
    • Lifting operations
    • Coastal/Marine works
    • Temporary works
    • Excavations
