The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project. Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets. Summary of Role

Working within the Dalkia Permit Team to manage, maintain, coordinate, and produce Work Authorisations, Work Packs and Permits, ensuring compliance and operational readiness across the project. Coordinating closely with multiple Dalkia departments to provide guidance and support, enabling efficient workforce mobilisation and uninterrupted progression of works into new areas. Operating effectively within a rapidly evolving project scope, demonstrating a proactive and adaptable approach to changing operational and project demands. Coordinating, managing, and potentially issuing high‑risk permits, including Hot Works, Confined Space Entry, and Working at Height permits, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and procedural requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Ensuring Dalkia’s work authorisations and permits are in place and compliant with the required scope of work.
  • Liaising with Dalkia teams, contractors, and the client to support effective coordination and communication.
  • Using work control and permit systems, including P2W (HPC’s Permit to Work software) and Site Assist, to manage and coordinate works.
  • Collating data from ongoing and upcoming works to produce trackers and support the coordination of work authorisations and permits, enabling smooth project progression.

Other Duties / Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with contractor organisations and client teams to drive continuous improvement and develop internal processes and procedures in line with evolving project requirements and scope.
  • Acting as a key point of contact across Dalkia, supporting blue‑collar and white‑collar personnel, as well as Senior Management and Leadership Teams, to ensure effective communication and operational alignment.
  • Conducting audits and compliance inspections to verify adherence to site standards, procedural requirements, and safety expectations, supporting continuous compliance and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365.
  • Experience and confidence in working and liaising with contractor companies and client representatives on projects, or in other professional settings.
  • Manipulation, creation and maintenance of data/metadata to assist with clear coordination of works.

General Qualifications – Permit Related

  • Use of P2W at HPC (advantageous) or other work controls/authorisation/permit software.
  • Working understanding of work authorisations and permits, from their creation through to cancellation, work stop or completion.

Additional Qualifications / Experience

  • Nuclear site experience advantageous.
  • Multi‑contractor sites advantageous.
  • Knowledge of various work types inclusive of hot works, electrical works, mechanical.
  • Previous permit role in creation, guidance, review, coordination advantageous.
  • HSE qualifications: such as IOSH, NEBOSH. SMSTS, SSSTS, confined space, working at height, hot works etc.; any significant risk task/exposure and control is advantageous.
