About the Role

Hybrid | Permanent | Starting from £63,000

Want to build fast, modern web applications used by real customers every day? Ready to focus on React, shape front-end architecture, and still stay hands-on across the full stack? At EDF, you'll use your skills to create digital experiences that support small businesses - all while growing your expertise your way. Because here, Success is Personal.

The Opportunity

As a Full Stack Software Engineer with strong React expertise, you'll play a key role in building the web platforms that power how small businesses connect with customers, sell, and grow. Your work will directly support EDF's wider mission as we continue our journey towards An Electric Britain.

You'll join us on a salary starting of £63,000 per annum, with a hybrid setup across London, Hove, and Exeter. You can work from home, with the option to collaborate in person monthly - or more often if you prefer.

This is a React-heavy role (70-80%), where you'll design and build high-quality, scalable front-end applications using TypeScript and modern frameworks. Alongside this, you'll contribute across the stack - integrating APIs, working with AWS, improving CI/CD pipelines, and using AI tools to enhance how we build and deliver software.

Who You Are

You're a React-focused Full Stack Engineer who cares about performance, clean code, and delivering real value to users. You're confident owning front-end development, while still contributing across backend and cloud when needed.

  • Are you experienced in:
  • Building production-grade React applications with strong TypeScript skills
  • Creating scalable, reusable front-end architectures (e.g. component libraries, micro frontends)
  • Managing state, async data flows, and complex UI behaviour in modern React apps
  • Integrating front ends with REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Developing backend services with Node.js or Python
  • Deploying and running applications on AWS (cloud-native / event-driven environments)
  • Writing automated tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
  • Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release processes
  • Applying monitoring and observability to improve reliability and performance

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building React-based web applications and micro frontends using TypeScript
  • Designing and integrating full-stack solutions across APIs, backend and cloud
  • Improving performance, accessibility and reliability of user-facing applications
  • Using AI tools to enhance development, testing and delivery
  • Collaborating in Agile teams to deliver features end-to-end

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of £63,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of success. That's why we give you the freedom to shape a career that works for you. Here, Success is Personal - it's your journey, powered by us.

Everyone is welcome at EDF. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce, and we'll support you with any adjustments you need throughout the process.
