Participate in morning DABS briefing and brief meeting details to lifting, transport and warehouse management teams.
Ensure that site conditions, including the proximity of hazards, are as identified in the RAMS, LP and POWRA.
Coordinate with lifting, traffic management and warehousing teams to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Responsible for the establishment of safe work areas for workers during plant operation, transport and lifting.
Ensure that a risk mitigation plan has been developed and implemented as per procedure.
Supervise the various lifting, traffic or warehousing teams as necessary.
Assist the lifting, traffic or warehousing teams as required, and be a point of contact for any questions or issues.
Monitor and ensure best practice with regard to waste management and housekeeping.
Liaise with any third parties working in the area.
Report back on daily progress and outcomes, and resolve any issues promptly to ensure works can proceed as scheduled.
Participate in any accident and incident investigations as required.
Attend any coordination meetings as required.
Shall ensure that a "zero harm" approach is taken in relation to all acts and omissions in relation to the services and the project; acknowledges that due to the nature of the project, nuclear safety and security are of paramount importance.
Agree to comply with any rule, instruction or requirement of the Company in relation to the services which the Company determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, is necessary to comply with obligations under the nuclear site licence.
Responsible for the safe operation of plant & equipment and a safe operator working environment.
Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate or reduce slipping or tripping risks in the work area.
Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools.
You must:
- Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
- Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
- Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Enrollment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of nuclear unit (completion within 6 months of start date or CMI Level 3) or Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS) LATS or SSSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
- Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS).
- Hold or can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport or HS&E test Supervisors CPCS Lift Supervisor.
- Safety Critical Medical exam.
