What You’ll Be Doing
As a Construction Manager, you’ll oversee the re-construction of a key section of the SZC works, leading the charge in ensuring safety, efficiency, and on-time delivery. Your role will encompass the entire construction lifecycle, including:
- Team Leadership
- Strategic Execution - develop and implement detailed construction strategies and plans
- Project Oversight - deliver new projects into Sizewell C with safety and quality at the forefront
- Stakeholder Engagement - collaborate with contractors, regulators, and government bodies to ensure project success
- Continuous Improvement - drive innovation and embed lessons learned for world-class project delivery
Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and a proven track record of their implementation.
What We’re Looking For
- Industry expertise within Construction and Civil Engineering
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on projects and working within regulated environments
- Management skills: supervising Tier 1 contractors
- Leadership capabilities - inspire teams, resolve complex issues, and foster collaboration
- Technical knowledge - familiarity with construction methodologies, CDM Regulations, and earned value management tools
- Strong communication - excellent interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills to engage stakeholders effectively
- Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field desirable
- SMSTS and CSCS site manager card - essential
