The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

Location: Suffolk or Manchester (London considered) with travel to Suffolk as required.

Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Salary: Competitive dependant on experience, plus benefits.

Benefits include:

  • Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
  • Bonus: 5% on target annual bonus.
  • Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution 15% employer contribution.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel – HS&E and Regulatory to provide strategic legal advice across health, safety, environmental and regulatory matters for the Sizewell C project. Working closely with senior stakeholders, operational teams and external advisers, you will play a key role in supporting one of the UK’s largest and most complex construction and nuclear programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with strong regulatory expertise to contribute to a nationally significant project operating in a highly regulated environment.

About You

Essential

  • Qualified solicitor/barrister in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction).
  • Significant post‑qualification experience in regulatory, environmental, health & safety or infrastructure law.
  • Experience advising within highly regulated sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, transport, utilities or nuclear.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with commercial delivery objectives.
  • Experience managing complex, fast‑moving matters in a collaborative environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working on major infrastructure or nuclear projects.
  • Familiarity with UK regulatory bodies including the HSE, Environment Agency and ONR.
  • In-house legal experience preferred.
