Join our site‑based engineering team at the New Nuclear Build (NNB) at Hinkley Point. As a Junior Security Installation Engineer you will:
- Carry out installation and commissioning works directed by team coordinators or Senior Site Engineer.
- Assist the Design Team in conducting surveys around the site for additional works.
- Collect and record site hardware and software configuration information with the CAD Engineer.
- Maintain site stock (spare) levels and accurate, timely records.
- Assist the Health and Safety Lead and Project Director in audits and quality procedures.
- Help produce Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other documentation for Permits to Work.
- Interact with other site‑based teams, building rapport and ensuring smooth information flow.
- Work in compliance with all site procedures, adopting the customer’s 'Zero Harm to People and the Environment' mantra.
- Carry out any additional tasks as required.
What we are looking for:
- Experienced security installations specialist or electrical/data engineer (intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, TANOY, PIDs, intercom).
- Excellent understanding of BS standards for security systems, NSI Standards NCP 104 (CCTV) & NCP 109 (access control), PD6662:2017.
- Ability to understand and commission IP devices on security systems; experience with analogue and IP‑based systems.
- Minimum 2 years installing/servicing a broad product base within the electronic security industry.
- Broad IT knowledge (software installation into Windows OS, IP‑based systems, networking principles).
- Basic electrical knowledge – voltage, resistance, current, relays, resistors.
- Attention to detail, paperwork accuracy, adherence to timeframes.
- Enthusiastic team player, works well under pressure, maintains professional approach.
- Comfortable working irregular hours and on a 24/7 call rota.
- 5‑year checkable employment history & right to work in the UK/EU unrestricted.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
