About the Role
The Opportunity
To support site Documented Information systems in line with company and station procedures. We are looking for a talented draughtsperson / CAD Operative to join our dynamic team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about design and technical drawing and wants to contribute to important projects within a regulated yet collaborative environment. The team member operates within priorities, objectives and areas established by the team leader. External and internal reporting form an important part of this role.
Pay, benefits and culture
The salary range associated with this role is £33,891 - £50,950. You'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What you'll be doing
- You will carry out activities in compliance with Documented Information procedures to ensure that documented information is managed to satisfy site licence requirements, company security of information obligations, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and Safety Rules and to ensure customer focus.
- Develop, load and maintain documented information on the Asset Management Suite (AMS)/Controlled Document Management System (CDMS) to ensure that approved documents are readily available.
- Maintain a record schedule and record index on the Asset Management Suite (AMS)/Record Management Track and store records to ensure that they are easily retrievable.
- Protect hard copy documents and records to ensure they are safely secured and easily retrievable in accordance with Company requirements.
- Maintain specified site technical documents to ensure they are accessible.
- Make registered copy holders aware of new document issues.
- Respond to requests from internal and external organisations concerning documents and provide documents in accordance with copyright and security classification.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD with experience in producing and editing technical drawings.
- IT Literate with confidence in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Skilled in creating and interpreting spreadsheets for effective data tracking and management.
- A proactive and self‑motivated work ethic, performing tasks thoroughly and diligently.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, follow documented procedures and consistently meet deadlines.
- Clear and professional communicator, both verbally and in writing, with a collaborative approach to working across departments.
- Adaptable and quick to learn new software and systems.
- Confident working independently or as part of a team.
- Produce detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics based on specifications given by engineers and registered contract partners.
- Collaborate with engineers, contract partners, and project managers to ensure design specifications are met.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback and project requirements.
- Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Role information
- Produce and revise station drawings in line with engineers' specifications and requirements to support the implementation of plant modifications.
- Oversee the distribution of hard copy drawings across the station, conduct regular audits and maintain accurate records.
- Digitally enhance historic technical drawings to improve legibility and clarity, ensuring they are easily interpretable by engineering and project teams.
- Support station teams by locating and retrieving historic drawings, uploading and managing drawings within the digital database.
- Utilise internal data management systems.
- The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Who you are
- A GCSE/National Qualification standard (or equivalent) which should include English and Mathematics.
- Be proficient in Asset Management Suite (AMS) - Document Management, Action Tracking, Records, Track, CAP.
- Proficient in CDMS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Proficient in document reporting tools - Business Objects (there should be sufficient team members to meet the business need).
- Have a working knowledge of documented information management systems.
