Finance Analyst
Full-Time, Permanent. Contractual Location: Hinkley Point C – Minimum 3-4 days a week in office.

The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As a Finance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial performance of a multi-billion-pound project. You’ll work closely with Financial Control Managers and Senior Analysts to deliver strategic financial advice, insightful reporting, and performance reviews. Your work will help optimise investment returns and drive key performance indicators across the HPC programme.
You’ll collaborate with planning, commercial, and project control teams to produce high-quality financial analytics. Your expertise will help shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and ensure consistency in financial messaging across the project.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner in financial governance, helping to ensure accountability and transparency across the HPC programme. You’ll provide insightful commentary and support financial reviews that influence strategic decisions.
You’ll analyse budgets, forecasts, and performance data—challenging assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings. Your work will include cash forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting accurate funding requests from shareholders.
You’ll also coach teams on financial processes, support audits, and assist with administrative tasks such as budget adjustments and journal postings. Your contribution will help maintain financial integrity and drive continuous improvement across the project.
Who You Are
You’re someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and builds strong relationships with stakeholders. Your communication skills are excellent, and you know how to present complex financial ideas in a clear, engaging way. You’re commercially astute, action-oriented, and confident in navigating competing demands.
You bring strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, using both logic and intuition to support decision-making. You understand the external factors influencing the energy sector and are passionate about delivering value through financial insight.
You’ll have solid commercial or business experience and be fully or partly qualified with a recognised UK accounting body (e.g. ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA). Experience with SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI, or ECOSYS is a plus, and you’ve supported performance reviews and internal relationships in previous roles.
Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
