Job Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced Estimators to develop first‑principles estimates for the Civil Works Program, ensuring every pound is accounted for.
- Review drawings and specifications to create costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment, helping to shape the future of the project.
- Learn how to assess design options and value solutions, ensuring the project is both cost‑effective and high‑quality.
- Use industry‑leading software such as Candy Estimating Software and RIB Cost X to develop pricing and bills of quantities.
- Collaborate with project teams and the supply chain to understand methodologies and ensure estimates are realistic and achievable.
- Support presentations and negotiations, learning how to justify pricing to senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Track changes to estimates and budgets as the project evolves, gaining hands‑on experience in project management.
