The Opportunity
This 12‑month placement offers a starting salary of £24,500 per annum and the chance to work at one of our key nuclear sites. You\’ll be part of a team that\’s driving innovation and safety in the energy sector.
You will gain hands‑on experience in engineering projects that support nuclear safety and operations. With opportunities to get involved with various groups, this placement offers a springboard into a rewarding career in energy.
What You\’ll Be Doing
During your placement you will work within the Engineering Department at Sizewell B Power Station. Past students have led projects to simplify operations, delivered mitigations in support of nuclear safety cases and worked with engineers to troubleshoot a number of live issues. They have also helped maintain condition monitoring programmes and produced reports underpinning equipment reliability.
You\’ll apply academic knowledge to real‑industry contexts, supported by experienced teams and mentors. There will be practical learning in a professional environment, the opportunity to put your overalls on and go and have a look at the plant yourself, while completing degree‑relevant modules and gaining insight into engineering within the energy sector.

You will be based on site at Sizewell B Power Station, within the Engineering Department.
Who You Are
To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a bachelor\’s degree (2:2 or higher) in Engineering.
