The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

The Construction Delivery Manager supports activities in the field relating to the construction of a designated section of the works and its on-site facilitation. It includes day-to-day on-site supervision and direction of the works to safely and efficiently deliver the project.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of their sections of works.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns, and follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to avoid the cessation of works, including but not limited to review of documents and assurance audits.
  • Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and escalates any issues/concerns via detailed reports.
  • Proactively communicate and coordinate with other site teams (Health & Safety, contract, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links and ensure activity is well and timely reported.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensure outputs are recorded and issued to the SCDM.
  • Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections that support the project HSPI's.
  • Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager so that all activity and issues are directed appropriately.
  • Shift working to suit the Tier 1 shift patterns.

Dimensions

EDF Energy will be working as Principle Contractor to deliver this Major Project. The post holder will be based at Hinkley Point C and may be required to travel to other company locations in the UK and possibly Europe as required. Manage and coordinate delivery of service contract partners.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of the post holder's obligations under CDM Regulations.
  • Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
  • Be able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
  • Possess excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage operations of the site.
  • Adopt a results-focussed mindset, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of operating in a high-security environment is advantageous.
  • Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be offset by experience within large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects.
