Responsibilities
- Liaise with site management to complete quality take‑offs.
- Identify and assess potential commercial opportunities or issues within the project.
- Prepare hazard and risk assessments and method statements; alert relevant personnel to control measures.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure works comply with design and specification.
- Train, manage and mentor junior engineers.
- Manage sectional setting‑out requirements on site.
- Maintain sectional service plans and drawings; issue permits accordingly.
- Assist the QS / Project Manager with records and claims information.
- Oversee as‑built requirements for your section and contribute to the site health and safety file.
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience at least to Section Engineer level in civil engineering schemes.
- Familiarity with NEC contract form and infrastructure projects (structures and highways).
- Computer literate in CAD; CSCS card in appropriate discipline.
- BSc, HND or HNC qualification in civil engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of ITPs and quality assurance processes.
- Leadership skills and knowledge of construction practices.
- Full UK driving licence; willing to travel throughout the Eastern Region.
- First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
