About the Role
Are you a proactive organiser with a flair for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences? If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a wide range of people, and making things happen behind the scenes, this could be the perfect role for you. At EDF, we’ll support your growth every step of the way—because your success is personal to us.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. As our Business and Events Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role in both the smooth running of our business operations and the delivery of high-profile events. Reporting to the Business and Events Manager, you’ll help ensure compliance, accurate reporting, and seamless event logistics. Based at the Satellite Delivery Centre in Bridgwater, you’ll spend at least three days a week in the office, with flexibility for remote working. Occasionally, you may travel to other locations or work varied hours to support key events.
Pay, benefits and culture
In addition to offering a salary range of £35,000 - £38,000 depending on experience, we offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.
At EDF, everyone is welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We would like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility. We are a disability confident employer and will do all we can to support you through your recruitment journey with us. If you would like to talk about adjustments, or support you may need, please note this within your application. We will value the difference you bring and give you opportunities to thrive and succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be at the heart of our Business Management & Governance team, supporting the delivery of team objectives and ensuring everything runs like clockwork. From preparing for directorate meetings and team away days to managing the logistics of cross-HPC events, your work will help bring people together and keep operations on track. You’ll assist in the end-to-end planning and execution of events, respond to ad-hoc requests, and support the S&SA Director in preparing for high-profile site visits. Your ability to adapt quickly and prioritise effectively will be key to your success. You’ll also manage the team mailbox, handle queries, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business. Your eye for detail and commitment to continuous improvement will help us deliver events and business functions to the highest standard.
Who You Are
You’re someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys variety in your day-to-day work. You’re self-sufficient, adaptable, and always ready to learn. With experience in events, logistics, or business support, you know how to juggle priorities and keep things moving. You’re confident using Microsoft Office and ideally have experience working in a business setting, perhaps within the nuclear sector or on a major infrastructure project. You’re a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and you build relationships with ease.
