At EDF, Success is Personal – and your career journey is yours to shape.

The Opportunity

As a Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and overseeing nuclear safety activities for the Sizewell C Project, helping to support the transition towards An Electric Britain. Working within the Technical Directorate, you’ll provide leadership across a broad range of safety disciplines, ensuring technical activities are delivered effectively while maintaining high standards of nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.

Working within the Nuclear Safety Team, you’ll oversee the delivery of complex safety activities, influence technical strategy, and support the replication of proven nuclear designs from Hinkley Point C to Sizewell C. You’ll broaden your leadership capability while collaborating with senior technical experts, managing key risks and opportunities, and contributing to the delivery of a major low‑carbon infrastructure programme.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Safety Manager who can provide technical leadership, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and oversee the delivery of nuclear safety activities within a highly regulated environment. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • A degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline

  • Experience in a relevant leadership or management position within a highly regulated industry
  • Experience reviewing complex technical documentation and safety‑related deliverables
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and competing priorities

  • Coordinating activities that support the replication of nuclear safety studies from Hinkley Point C to Sizewell C
  • Securing the delivery of safety‑related activities, milestones, and technical outputs against project requirements
  • Overseeing the review and approval of technical safety deliverables and ensuring key technical issues are appropriately resolved
  • Managing project risks, opportunities, reporting activities, and stakeholder engagement across multiple project forums
